Our Cats

Some guests are allergic to cats, afraid of them or do not like them so our cats are not allowed into our guest accommodation areas including the Drawing and Dining Rooms and guest bedrooms.

Islay and Skye

We have two furry bundles of mischief, sisters Islay and Skye. In November 2015 we rescued a small baby hedgehog in our garden and took it to an animal rescue centre where we met these tiny, beautiful kittens aged 10 weeks and looking for a good home.....the rest is history!

Our first sight of kittens Islay and Skye - how could we say no?

Skye is such a placid girl....

Islay has Heterochromia Iridis - one blue and one green eye

....as is Islay who has the most beautiful eyes!

Amber

As guests who have stayed at The Dulaig over the years know we had a lovely placid cat called Amber. He did not chase wild birds and he even ran away from our hens! He loved to snooze in our garden and he was often seen, tucked away in one of the flower borders.

Sadly we had to say goodbye to Amber for the last time in August 2015 when he was 19 years old. We got him, and his bother Claret, as rescue kittens when they were just 4 months old: Claret reached the grand old age of 14 years.

This first picture below of Amber looking through a gate was taken by Brad, one of our guests. We think it captured him perfectly!

Almost indescribable. Two days of joy.

The Dulaig B&B is now closed.

It has been our absolute pleasure to share our home, garden, love of Scotland and of food, with guests over the past 14 years. The experience of running our B&B exceeded our wildest dreams however we - Carol, Gordon (& The Cake Fairy) - have hung up our aprons for the last time.

Thank you to the wonderful guests from all over the world who have stayed with us. You have given us so many special memories which we will always treasure. Thank you too, everyone else who has supported us: your confidence in us was appreciated more than words can say.

Warmest Wishes to All,
