The Cromdale Hills are just three miles from Grantown and can be seen from our street. Today we decided that, having looked at these hills for ten years, we would climb them at last. What a wonderful walk we had and on such a stunning day.    These hills have a reputation for being very boggy on the plateau but as we have had virtually no rain for three months we figured we would be fine, and we were. Marmalade-making time again at The Dulaig B&B
Just finished making the first batch the year of of Seville orange marmalade. These little bitter oranges are too sharp to eat uncooked but they do make amazing marmalades! The batches I made today include Seville and Ginger, Seville and Demerara and our own very special recipe, Whisky Mac which has a good measure of Laphroig Scotch Malt whisky.  As you can see I like to use recycled glass jars. Look - Otter still visiting us at The Dulaig!

As you see here, a year after we first discovered it an otter is still visiting us regularly. Being a river otter it is usually out and about in the evening so our films of it are in the dark. It is feasting on troutlings and tiny salmon which are in the burn.

An "Ode to The Dulaig" by musician Mike Stout!
We were quite overwhelmed and humbled to receive this poem written by US musician Mike Stout about The Dulaig B&B.
