We found this little hedgehog, our first Autumn Juvenile of the year, on our drive at The Dulaig last night. It looks in good condition but weighing only 400 grams it is highly unlikely to be able to put on enough weight to enable it to reach 750 grams before it hibernates for winter here in the Scottish Highlands. We had a lovely visit recently to Ballindalloch Distillery, just 16 miles from The Dulaig. Scotland's first Single Estate Distillery, Ballindalloch is built in the restored ruins of an old farm steading on the Ballindalloch Estate. Gordon and I spent a wonderful few days on the Isle of Skye, staying with Marie and Ian at The Spoons B&B. The weather was lovely and we decided to go for a "little" walk on three hills near Broadford known as the Broadford Red Hills.

It has been our absolute pleasure to share our home, garden, love of Scotland and of food, with guests over the past 14 years. The experience of running our B&B exceeded our wildest dreams however we - Carol, Gordon (& The Cake Fairy) - have hung up our aprons for the last time.
