"These are so sweet, like sugar!" - exclaimed one of our guests recently when she ate Gordon's delicious home-grown tomatoes with her breakfast. These little beauties are indeed super tasty eaten straight from the plant and even more so when roasted in a little local rapeseed oil. Just as well we have plenty of them as our guests love them!
We encourage wildlife to our garden, a haven for animals and for our guests. We are lucky to have a very healthy population of hedgehogs which visit us and this means that on evenings throughout the summer there is quite a good chance of spotting one or two going around the garden.

As you see here, a year after we first discovered it an otter is still visiting us regularly. Being a river otter it is usually out and about in the evening so our films of it are in the dark. It is feasting on troutlings and tiny salmon which are in the burn.
We were quite overwhelmed and humbled to receive this poem written by US musician Mike Stout about The Dulaig B&B. Mike and his wife Stephanie stayed with us in July 2017 during their tour of the UK and this terrific poem reached us just a couple of days after their visit. Mike has given us his permission to share the poem, and incredibly says that some day when he has the right melody he may record it as a song for us - how wonderful is that?

Since arriving at The Dulaig eight years ago we have tried to make our gardens a haven for wildlife as well as for our guests.
We know that every year we can see more and more birds and mammals visiting us and for fun we installed some cameras to see what is visiting us when we are not looking. We could not believe our eyes when one of our cameras picked up an OTTER!
