The Dulaig garden opens for charity
We opened The Dulaig garden to the public today as part of Strathspey Opens Gardens event to raise funds for two local charities, Grantown Museum and Riding for the Disabled. Even though we were busy all day with visitors enjoying our garden the wild ducks who love lazing on our lawn did not leave. Duckling drama
We were delighted when Mrs Duck brought her day-old ducklings to our wildlife pond. The 10 ducklings explored their new surroundings, had their first swim and the scene was very peaceful until a second mother duck came along with her new brood of 13 ducklings…..pandemonium broke out! Wildlife flocks to The Dulaig wildlife pond
Our new wildlife pond works for wildlife! In the few months since we built it the pond has already attracted a wide variety of birds including grey wagtails and a heron. The  pebble beach is a great spot for the baby newts which sun themselves in the shallow water, and blackbirds, doves and other birds love to bathe and drink there too.
