We have had snow today in Grantown-on-Spey. Our neighbours, this little flock of sheep in the field next to us, were well wrapped up and well fed and did not seem to mind at all!
More snow is forecast for tonight, great news for those keen to head for the ski slopes at Cairngorm Mountain and The Lecht.
As our guests know, at The Dulaig we feed our wild birds all year round, though on snowy mornings like today they really appreciate it......and we appreciate seeing them too.
What a lovely thing to watch more and more pheasants as they seem to appear from nowhere!
The snow arrived in Grantown-on-Spey this week, inspiring The Cake Fairy at The Dulaig to make these delicious Shortbread Snowflakes for our guests.
Wonder what will the surprise will be next time????
This morning we awoke to this gorgeous scene in our garden.......the snow has arrived! For Hope, our little red-legged partridge hatched in summer, it is her first experience of snow lying but she sheltered in a dry spot in our fruit cage in the garden and is happily scratching around and eating this morning.
This was the scene in our garden this morning after heavy snow fell overnight.
One of our very friendly robins was happy to perch in the sunshine and admire the view across the garden.
No wonder it looks more like Christmas than Christmas!
